The Miracle Morning: Boost productivity & Stay motivated by Mohit Chaprana (MCR)
This article is based on a book named, The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod and books by Robin Sharma, 5 AM Club. This is a great book to become a morning person or just to know about what are the benefits of a morning person. And what you will achieve by this.
There is a saying in Hindi that “Life bhaut choti hai, or books bhaut jada" means “Life is too short, and books too many.”
So, let’s get started.
The miracle morning is a perfect process of personal development by which a person will achieve what he/she truly wants in life. Everyone wants 100% in every area but they didn't want to give their 100% in their areas. Personal Development is the key to achieving 100% in every area in your life and you must have to focus on your personal development for the same.
We all wanted to know about life. According to Hal,
LIFE = P.I.E.S
- P = PHYSICAL (Health, Body)
- I = INTELLECTUAL (Mind, thoughts, thinking)
- E = EMOTIONS (Feeling & Attitude)
- S = SPIRITUAL (Souls, spirit, & higher powers that oversee all)
If we really want to change our outer world, we have to focus on changing our inner world and then our outer world & all life situations will automatically be changed.
Developing PIES will help you to make a better version of yourself and improve your life & its situations automatically.
How to develop P.I.E.S.?
Follow the six powerful personal development practices known as S.A.V.E.R.S.
- S for SILENCE
- A for AFFIRMATION
- V for VISUALIZATION
- E for EXERCISE
- R for READING
- S for SCRIBING i.e. WRITING
Life S.A.V.E.R.S. that you will use to gain access to the powerful forces which are already in you, that will enable you to alter, change, or transform any area of your life.
What is life S.A.V.E.R.S.?
I’m dividing this book into 6 parts because this book tells us about life savers i.e. S.A.V.E.R.S
1. S = SILENCE
According to me, Stresafull & rushed lives are slow and unproductive.
SILENCE is one of the best ways to immediately reduce stress while increasing your self-awareness & gaining the clarity that will allow you to maintain your focus on your goals, priorities, & other imp things in your life.
Activities to choose from silence or for maintaining silence.
- Meditation
- Prayer
- Reflection
- Deep breathing/Breath Awareness
- Gratitude
2. A = AFFIRMATION
The second alphabet of S.A.V.E.R.S. is A i.e Affirmations.
What are Affirmations?
Affirmations allow you to design and then develop the mindset (thoughts, beliefs, focus) that you need to take any area of your life to the next level.
It is no coincidence that some of the most successful people in our society have been vocal about their belief that positive thinking and the use of affirmations have helped them on their journey to success and wealth.
Why Affirmations??????????
Everyone wants to be happy, and successful, but wanting is rarely an effective strategy for getting. All the extraordinary persons have defined a clear life purpose that is more powerful than the collective sum of their petty problems and countless obstacles they will inevitably face, and they wake up each day and work toward their purpose. Affirmations can help you to find out your own life purpose.
How do affirmations work?
Your affirmations are either working for or against you, depending on how you are using them. If you don’t consciously design & choose your affirmations you’re susceptible to responding and reliving the fears, insecurities & limitations of your past.
“I’m the greatest!” Mo. Ali (Legendary Boxer) affirmed these words over and over again, and then he became them.
FLOW CHART OF WORKING OF AFFIRMATIONS
- Commit affirmations repeatedly
⇓ (will create)
Impressions on the subconscious mind - ⇓ (and then our subconscious mind will)
Transform the way you think & feel and overcome the limiting beliefs.
Let’s Take Some Examples
I’m not saying all these from my side, these are the tips given by some famous personalities and billionaires.
A boy Matt (A student of Tony Robbins, a Famous Author, business coach, and millionaire), always used to affirm in his shower: “I’m in the control of destiny! I deserve to be successful! I’m committed to doing everything I must do today to reach my goals and create the life of my dreams!” Now Matt owns Five homes, and one of the best networks of top engineers in America. {source: The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod}
“My financial intelligence is now increasing everyday. Financial intelligence is more important than money” Affirmation of Robert Kiyosaki (Bestselling author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad).

Affirmation of Jeff Bezos (Founder and CEO of Amazon) “I’ll be the richest person in the world”, Results are in front of us.
Affirmation of Hal Elrod which improved his memory loss and helped him to recover from short-term memory , “I have a very beautiful mind & my memory can improve.”
Affirmations can improve health, finance, relationships, overall happiness, confidence, beliefs, mindsets, and habits. There are no limits.
How to program your mindset for affirmations?
We can program or reprogram our minds by using affirmations consistently.
Constant repetition of an affirmation will lead to acceptance by the mind and result in changes in your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. And this is how you can program your mindset.
Work on programming your mind otherwise our lives become limited with crushed potential.
One thing I must say is that you must focus on whether what you’re doing is wrong or right. This means your affirmations should be for your personal development not for hurting someone. “I want to become Osama Bin Laden”

Let’s take another example from one of my favorite books, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth, Book by T. Harv Eker
“When my wife was eight years old, she would hear the clanging bells of the ice cream truck coming down the street. She would run to her mom and ask for a quarter. Her mom would reply, “Sorry, dear, I don’t have any money. Go ask Dad. Dad’s got all the money.” My wife would then go ask her dad. He’d give her a quarter, she’d go get her ice cream cone, and she was a happy camper. Week after week, the same incident would repeat itself. So what did my wife learn about money?
First, men have all the money. So once we got married, what do you think she expected of me? That’s right: money. And I’ll tell you what, she wasn’t asking for quarters anymore! Somehow she’d graduated.
Second, she learned that women don’t have money. If her mom (the deity) didn’t have money, obviously this is the way she should be. To validate that way of being, she would subconsciously get rid of all her money. She was quite precise about it too. If you gave her $100, she’d spend $100. If you gave her $200, she’d spend $200. If you gave her $500, she’d spend $500, and if you gave her $1,000, she’d spend $1,000. Then she took one of my courses and learned all about the art of leverage. I gave her $2,000, she spent $10,000! I tried to explain, “No, honey, leverage means we’re the ones who are supposed to get the ten thousand dollars, not spend it.” Somehow it just wasn’t sinking in.”
Examples of Miracle Morning affirmations
- The secret to getting ahead is getting started. (Mark Twain)
- If you can dream it, you can do it. (Walt Disney)
- You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. (Wayne Gretzky)
- A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new. (Albert Einstein)
- Good, better, best. Never let it rest. ’Til your good is better and your better is best. (St. Jerome)
3. V = VISUALIZATION
You all must have heard a lot about visualization, but what amazing changes can come in our life from visualization we all may not aware of this.
Let me explain this with a few examples:
Arnold’s 10-minute speech
You all must know Mr. Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger, he is one of the most successful human beings, actor, film producer, businessman, former bodybuilder, and politician who served as the 38th governor of California between 2003 and 2011.
During an interview, the interviewer asked Arnold that it's very hard to achieve a single goal for a normal person but you hit different goals from different industries, how did you achieve all those goals? He simply replied, “By passion, affirmations, and visualization”.
Before starting bodybuilding he used to be an army soldier, but he quit the army and then started bodybuilding — this was his passion for his dreams.
Arnold further says that while setting my goals or participating in any competition, I used to visualize where I am going to reach. It means he visualizes himself winning the trophy — this was his visualization.
You must have seen this and also felt that sometimes we consider ourselves to be already alive in some things, or think in our minds that I’m a winner, I can win this, then there are over 90% chances that you’ll surely win that match — that is affirmation.
“I began visualizing that, on August 1, I will be on the set shooting Terminator and doing all the physical things it requires,” he recalls. “Sure enough, on August 1, I am there in Budapest on the set of Terminator six.” -Source
ARNOLD’S PEECH’S YOUTUBE LINK & His autobiography Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story
SRK’s dialogue from Om Shanti Om Movie
Kehte hain agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho ... to puri kainaat usse tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai
It is saying that if you really desire something from the heart ... then the whole universe will work towards getting you that
Here is another example of Visualization from the book:
Jim Carrey wrote himself a check in 1987 in the amount of 10 million dollars, and gave himself the end date of Thanksgiving 1995, with the memo line “For acting services rendered.” He then visualized it for years, and was paid 10 million dollars in 1994 (1 year early) for his starring role in Dumb and Dumber.
My personal experience
Visualization has a very unique place in my life, I got almost everything I ever dreamed of.
Benefits of Visualization:
1. Maintain health
2. Increase confidence
3. Decrease anxiety
4. Imagination is the reality for our brain, so if we feel or imagine something positive then everything will be changed to give positive results.
5. Brain works on gravity (downwards/ toward negative things), so it depends upon us, what we want. Flow with the gravity of Mind or uplift it.
How to do Visualization?
1. Think, What do you want?
2. Feel the emotion that will come when you achieve that.
3. Think about your purpose & benefit in your desire.
4. Feel the steps you have to take to achieve your goal.
Sometimes VISUALIZATION seems to be a useless practice but trusts me guys, it works! & give amazing results.
Please do these practices 5–10 minutes a day & feel the power of the mind.
How to choose affirmations?
Let’s understand this with an example of weight loss, If you want to lose weight, then your affirmation might say something, “I’m 100% committed to going to the gym for 5 days a week, and running for 10 mins every day.”
If you are a student, your affirmation might read: “I’m 100% committed to studying for 4 hours in a day and completing all my homework on time”
- You must be consistent with your daily affirmations
- Combining physical activity with affirmation is a great way to harness the power of mind-body connection.
- Try to feel small successes in every affirmation, divide your big goals into parts, and then achieve them one by one.
- Be sure to include the frequency, quantity, and timing of your affirmation.
- Try to make a person feel better every day (a small success that helps u to develop confidence)
- To maximize your productivity work in blocks of hours.
4. E = EXERCISE
The benefits of playing sports or simple physical exercise have proven to increase energy, and improve sleep, health, and emotional well-being.
For people with physical disabilities or those who are less athletic, Hal Elrod advises doing yoga or arm movements, to avoid being inactive.
The more athletic ones can devote as much time as they wish to their favorite activity: jogging, running, weightlifting, gymnastics, swimming, etc.
Of course, it is recommended to consult your doctor if you have a physical condition.
Hal Elrod tested his method, and after a bet with one of his friends, he said that if he could run 42 km, he could run 83 km! (And, he did!)
5. R = READING
Reading is very close to me, because only by reading I learned more than 10 programming languages, and establish my company (Liveupx Pvt. Ltd.) by reading about top personalities and CEOs.
Reading do to the mind what exercise is do to the body and prayer is to the soul.
We become what we read.
The idea is to read for pleasure, to combine learning with entertainment. We should not force ourselves to read a book that we are not interested in.
This step consists of reading 10 pages every morning, regularly. Hal Elrod advises to immerse yourself in self-help books rather than fiction.
The best advice: read positive things that will help you project yourself into your affirmations!
It is also possible to reread a book that had a positive impact on you.
READING CAN: (Source)
- improves brain connectivity.
- increases your vocabulary and comprehension.
- empowers you to empathize with other people.
- aids in sleep readiness.
- reduces stress.
- lowers blood pressure and heart rate.
- fights depression symptoms.
- prevents cognitive decline as you age.
If we connect READING with other SAVERS then in my opinion it will connect all the SAVERS, how?
Reading = Mind exercise (E)
Reading = Visualization (V)
Reading = Silence
Reading = Affirmations too
6. S = SCRIBING
My morning starts with scribing and ends with scribing. I go to sleep after writing the tasks for the next day and my day starts by writing the individual tasks for my team leaders and replying to all my important emails.
In my opinion, putting your ideas on paper helps you sort through and structure your thinking. Scribing something can make things easier for us because writing something can help us to figure out what is good for us and what is not.
Not only the daily tasks but you can scribe your whole day in your diary or mention the good & bad things that happened to you today.
You can write all your ideas and great thoughts in your journal.
The consists of keeping a written record of your positive thoughts and the means used to reach your goals, to capture moments of happiness, awareness, etc.
Your diary can help you in many ways:
- you can visualize your positive thoughts, with illustrations, photos
- you have guidelines for your affirmations
- you can look back and see how far you’ve come
- you can write down even the craziest ideas
- you have a secret garden, completely devoted to your imagination
- your journal helps you to be clearer, to remember your ideas, etc.

In this book, Robin gave a perfect and scientific sequence of SAVERS which is given below:-
